Medical Clinics

- The Safety Department (Medical Clinics) is responsible for handling medical cases that visit the medical clinics across various university locations, as well as providing first aid for emergency situations until the ambulance arrives.

 

  • The Safety Department (Medical Clinics) includes a total of (14) medical clinics distributed across all university locations.
  • The medical clinics operate for 12 hours daily and respond to emergency calls 24 hours a day, including Fridays and public holidays.
  • Mobile and stationary field clinics are established as needed at different university locations to ensure the safety of campus visitors.

Medical Clinic Services

Definition of Medical Clinics
They are a group of first-aid clinics that fall under the Safety Department of the Security and Safety Administration, to provide first-aid services to our male and female students throughout the school day through a contract with a specialized medical company to provide male and female paramedics to work at the university clinics, as well as some necessary medical devices and supplies to provide this service.

Objectives of Medical Clinics

· Preserve the life of the injured person
· Prevent deterioration of the injured person's health condition and maintain their safety
· Help the injured person recover
· Spread health awareness and education among university attendees
· Provide some initial screenings for chronic diseases

 

First-aid services provided by the medical clinics
1 - Transfer of paramedics from the clinic to the location of the case to provide first aid until they are transferred to the hospital
2 - Preserve the life of the injured person and prevent deterioration of the condition
3 - Paramedics maintain the stability of the patient's condition and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation until the ambulance arrives
4 - The clinic provides the following services (temperature measurement – blood pressure measurement – dressing wounds and burns – eye washing – weight measurement – kidney function tests – blood cholesterol measurement)
5 - Providing Panadol in cases of pain and headache
6 - Conducting a Ventolin session if a prescription is available
7 - The clinic performs a full examination of the injured person, attends to the injury whether major or minor, and keeps the condition stable and safe, especially in cases of bleeding and fractures
8 - Conducting health awareness campaigns and distributing medical brochures
9 - Maintaining the safety of students and all university staff in dusty conditions (distributing masks)

The medical clinics are distributed across all Kuwait University sites to maintain the health and safety of all campus attendees, to reduce the deterioration of emergency cases, and to ensure fast and easy handling of such cases. There are (14) clinics equipped with qualified and trained male and female paramedics who hold professional practice licenses from the Health Licenses Department at the Ministry of Health, distributed as follows: -
